My song of the week this week is the remix of Melinda Doolittle’s “It’s Your Love,” which was released as a single today:

This video is of the Nevins Radio Mix. I actually like the Nevins Club mix the best, but this one is fun too.

This single reminds me how much I love remixes of R and B divas — Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, etc. Now maybe Melinda Doolittle can join their ranks!

Here are the lyrics:

I wake up knowin trouble is always in sight
And I’m nowhere
Nothing will ever work out right
But there is something in my darkness
That sheds through light

It’s your love (It’s your love) [x4]
Never leave me without your love

That man is waiting to see that all my work is done
With what hes payin, it seems a lot
Lord, he ain’t payin me none
But there is something in my darkness
That puts me right on top

It’s your love (It’s your love) [x4]
Never leave me without your love
Oh yeah yeah

Anything you say
Darling, I will do
Darling I will do
Said it makes no difference to me

So go on and talk your talk honey
I’m listening
And I need to hear the truth
Yeah

(Your precious love)
Said I need it in the mornin time
(Your precious love)
I need it in the evenin time
(Your precious love)
I need it to make me feel everything is alright
(Your precious love)

I’m talkin bout
(Your precious love)
Makes me feel good inside
(Your precious love)
I need your love
(Your precious love)
I said I need your love
(Your precious love)
