PJ and I are flying to Paris this evening. We’ll have about 4 days in Paris before taking the train to London, where I’ll be giving a paper at the conference on Antisemitism and English Culture.
This is my first time in France. While I’m always (more than) a little nervous about trying new things — especially in languages other than English — I’m looking forward to the trip.
Hopefully I’ll have lots to write about when we get back. Of course, everything in Paris will be new to me (Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Louvre, etc.), and I’m hoping to have time to do a few new things London too (Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate Britain). I’m also planning on visiting Versailles.
Au revoir, mes amis!
I’m so jealous of your and PJ’s travel schedule! You guys appear to be traveling a lot lately. I don’t have a lot of funds for travel these days and I’ve been working on getting things ready for publication instead of going to conferences (which is my usual excuse for travel). I have 4 potentially publishable papers, which is good, but not in the way of travel. I’ll just have to hold out for fellowships and a fulbright. Hope the paper goes well!!
paris and london are great places,
have lots of fun 😀
Congrats on the 4 papers! That’s definitely exciting. It’s taken PJ and me a long time to get to a point in our lives where we can afford to travel as much as we do — and a lot our travel this year has been work related. You’ll get there too soon enough, especially if you get all of those paper published. In the mean time, do apply for those fellowships!
Thanks for the well wishes — London is my favorite place on earth so far and Paris was indeed a lot of fun!
And thanks for reading my blog — it’s always nice to hear from new people.
*I* want to hear about your trip. 😉
